God is like...

Radio, his voice is out there in the air waiting to be received by people with hearts tuned to Him. What frequency are you on?

God is like...
I recently had a discussion with a friend who asked me how I know God is real and that the Bible was true (essentially). Given the history of our discussions I was pretty sure that I take it on faith was not going to work. then God gave me this and it sort of opened a flood of ideas. God is like the computer on my desk. I don't know how it does all the processes that it takes to make even the simplest thing happen, I just know it works. I don't know how God does all the things He does, I just know that He proves Himself to be faithful every time I trust Him.

Peace at all costs???
I was recently involved in a thread on the subject of the accountability or lack thereof at some of the colleges supported by my denomination. My denomination has a tradition of pacifism that I feel has gone way beyond the original intent. One of the colleges sponsored a peace week during a regional youth conference and one of the members of the elist stated about the participation of hare krishnas in the peace week celebration. This was my response.

Wow this just makes it so much more interesting. Peace Week featuring
Hare Krishna's is all I really needed to hear. I think it is time we take a serious look at our peace position, because I think it has morphed drastically from the original intent. Sharing peace week with Hare Krishnas should be all the evidence needed. Our mission is not to share with all others on the side of peace, our mission is to share the love of Christ with the perishing. Not sharing Christ with
Hare Krishnas and all other non Christian groups in the name of man made peace is the ultimate act of violence because in effect we leave them open to eternal damnation which is far worse than any bomb. This college would not receive a nickel from my church. We are called to be peacemakers, that is true and a big part of that is living at peace with our neighbor, but we are also called to speak the truth in love
and to make disciples of Christ, which is the ultimate act of peacemaking, helping people find peace with God, through THE way, THE truth and THE Life, Jesus Christ. Sometimes I think our peace at all costs mentality drives us off of our mission.
